Program Aims and Learning Outcomes |
On completion of the Executive DBA program, candidates will be expected to have achieved the following program learning outcomes within appropriate senior management contexts –
Knowledge & Understanding: Successful students will be able to demonstrate systematic knowledge and understanding of:
· The creation and interpretation of new knowledge, through original research or other advanced scholarship, of a quality to satisfy peer review, extend the forefront of the discipline, and to merit publication. · A substantial body of knowledge which is at the forefront of an academic discipline or area of business professional practice. · Conceptualisation, design and implementation of research project for the generation of new knowledge, that has applications or understandings at the forefront of the discipline, and to be able to adjust the project design in the light of unforeseen circumstances. · Methodological processes including approaches, tools, techniques, philosophies and ethical considerations for research.
Cognitive, Intellectual or Thinking Skills: On completion of the programme successful students will be able to demonstrate the ability to:
· Think critically about contemporary issues relating to business theories, concepts and practices to produce innovative solutions and create new knowledge · Engender an intellectual inquisitiveness and develop qualities of initiative, innovation and creativity · Synthesise and justifying appropriate methodological processes evaluating and overcoming challenges presented · Be flexible and use initiative, in developing effective solutions to unforeseen problems

Distinctive Features of the DBA Programme · The DBA programme provides structured but flexible delivery, formal and informal learning with a series of workshops to help develop knowledge including combination of blended learning approaches, enriched with new emerging technologies, which fits around participants’ personal and professional demanding commitments · The Doctorate in Business Administration has been designed specifically for practising business managers and professionals with a view to becoming skilled researchers in their professional practice settings. · The Doctorate in Business Administration provides business professionals with the opportunity to research a relevant business issue and make a significant contribution to the way business is conducted in the global environment, also enabling them to respond operationally and strategically to the demands of, and function effectively within, a wide range of business environments. · The programme is enriched with contemporary business issues of national and international importance, through the taught modules. · Supervisors, module tutors and moderators are themselves experienced practitioners in a variety of business and management areas and engaged in the drive to raise the quality of research and practice.

Admission Requirements | To qualify for admission on to the Executive DBA Program, the candidate should:
· Hold a Masters’ degree in a relevant subject plus professional work experience at a senior level of responsibility
For the latter condition they should –
· Have been employed in a managerial capacity within an organization for a period of at least 5 years from their date of Bachelors/Higher Degree Graduation.
And they will additionally –
· Be required to attend an interview and/or provide a portfolio of relevant professional work.

The taught courses for the first part of the DBA program are delivered primarily via instructor-led sessions, with experienced instructors. Some modules may be delivered in a hybrid (face-to-face and online) format, by UK and local teaching staff. Sessions will be fully subject-immersive and will include role-playing and use of CBT tools to augment delivery.
Assessment of academic performance will be through candidate-completed assignments, portfolios of work and a capstone DBA thesis. The final program outcome is a United Kingdom QAA-University-awarded DBA Degree.
