Environmental issues have been topical over the last decade, with governments, individuals, businesses and wider society emphasizing sustainability, renewability, socio-economic engagement and environmental conservation. In addition, there are a raft of local, national and international regulations impacting management of the environment. This program aims to develop skilled and professional environmental workers who are knowledgeable about prevailing rules and regulations.
Bachelor of Science in Sustainable Energy & Resource Management
The development and capable management of energy and other natural resources has been of some concern to society over recent decades. Attention has been given to the effective use of sustainable and renewable sources of energy such as solar, wind, biomass, hydro and geothermal energy, as opposed to fossil fuels. Students learn prime principles and techniques applicable to sustainable resource management. They also conduct standard and complex energy resource analyses as well as natural resource use estimations.
Master of Science in Water and Environmental Management
The program develops practitioner-level knowledge, skills and expertise with water management, environmental processes management and associated regulatory matters. There is added focus on sustainability in the management of water and environment-related resources.
