Leading Practice in Health and Social Care To be an effective in leadership in health and social care requires a need to supervise and manage provision and lead and support others through workforce provision. This unit will develop student’s skills and knowledge in the role of a Manager and leader in developing strategies to provide quality provision in health and social care. 15 Opt
Working with Multi-Disciplinary Teams This unit aims to give learners the knowledge to be able to work within multidisciplinary teams within a health and social care setting. This will enable learners to understand how to build and lead multidisciplinary teams, as well as understand how to communicate and overcome any barriers within a team and also with stakeholders within a health and social care setting. 15 Opt
Management of Safeguarding for Health and Social Care This unit aims to give learners the knowledge and applied skills to be able to manage safeguarding for health and social care within a health and social care setting. Learners will gain understanding of issues relating to safeguarding in health and social care, the impact legislation has on this, and how to support the implementation and promotion of policies and procedures in regard to safeguarding in a way that supports service users in a health and social care setting. Learners will also be able to apply skills to review and develop safeguarding policies for a specific health and social care context, within a health and social care setting. 10 Opt
Corporate Social Responsibility This unit aims to give learners the knowledge and applied skills around corporate social responsibility within a health and social care setting. Learners will understand current corporate social responsibility issues and the impact of these for a business and stakeholders. Learners will be able to demonstrate the skills within a health and social care setting. 15 Opt
Resource Management This unit aims to give learners the knowledge and applied skills around resource management within a health and social care setting. Learners will understand key features, the importance and ability to maximise the effectiveness of different types of resource management, including physical and human resources. Learners will be able to demonstrate the skills needed to review the use of resources within a health and social carer environment. 15 Opt
Management of Activity Provision The unit develops student’s knowledge of activity provision in health or social care and how it is managed. In many healthcare or social care situations, the evidence of positive physical and psychological benefits of activity provision to service users has been demonstrated. 15 Opt
Planning a New Business Venture The aim of the unit is to develop business planning skills. These skills can be applied to either a small micro enterprise or a new venture within an existing company. 15 Opt
Managing Stakeholder Engagement The aim of the unit is to enable the learner to develop the knowledge and understanding required to engage with stakeholders and to learn how to manage stakeholders in projects and organisations. 10 Opt
Leading Organisational Equality and Diversity he aim of this unit is to enable the learner to develop an understanding of the importance of managing equality and diversity within the organisation and to understand how to lead the approach to equality and diversity within an organisation. 10 Opt
Manage Sustainability in an Organisation To develop the knowledge, skills and techniques to be able to identify sustainability issues within an organisation and to put in place suitable management systems for legal compliance and corporate responsibility purposes. 15 Opt
Managing Quality in Health and Social Care This unit aims to give learners the knowledge and applied skills around managing quality within a health and social care setting. Learners will learn about and understand differing perspectives of quality and strategies for achieving quality relating to health and social cares services, as well as understanding methodologies for evaluating health and social cares services. Learners will be able to demonstrate the skills needed to evaluate systems, policies and procedures within a health and social care services environment. 15 Opt
Empowering Users of Health and Social Care Services This unit aims to give learners the knowledge and applied skills around empowering users of health and social care services. Learners will learn about and understand the design and review of services, being able to promote and maximise the rights of users and the participation of independence of users regarding health and social care services. Learners will understand responsibility of managing and monitoring risks and promoting good practice in the administration of medication being essential in health and social care services. 15 Opt
Health and Safety in the Health and Social Care Workplace This unit aims to give learners the knowledge and applied skills around health and safety within a health and social care setting. Learners will learn about and understand the implementation of legislation, the impact of health and safety requirements on customers and work practitioners and how to monitor ad review health and safety within a health and social care environment. 15 Opt
Employability Skills This unit aims to give learners the knowledge and applied skills around employability skills within a health and social care setting. Learners will learn about and understand the dynamics of working with others. Learners will be able to demonstrate the skills needed to determine own responsibilities and performance, development of interpersonal and transferable skills and strategies for problem solving. 15 Opt
Personal and Professional Development This unit aims to give learners the knowledge and applied skills for personal and professional development within a health and social care setting. Learners will learn about and understand how self-managed learning enhance lifelong development, Learners will be able to demonstrate the skills needed to take responsibility for own personal and professional development, implement and review a personal and professional development plan and demonstrate the acquired interpersonal and transferable skills gained. 15 Opt

Admission Requirements Qualifications

For learners who have recently been in education or training the entry profile is likely to include one of the following:

·  prior study in Healthcare Management or related subjects at level 4 or above

·  a level 4 qualification for example an ATHE Level 4 Diploma in Management for Health and Social Care

·  other equivalent international qualifications

·  Learners may also have relevant work experience

Language

For those whom English is not their first language we recommend the following standards of proficiency in English language skills or an approved equivalent for this qualification:

·  IELTs 5.5

·  Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) B2

·  Cambridge English Advanced (CAE) 162 or above

·  Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic 42-49

 

Application Fees Relevant course fees are indicated on the website – typically GBP 895 – 995.  We provide the option to pay by instalments.

Course Delivery Approach

The courses are delivered primarily via instructor-led sessions, with experienced instructors.  They are delivered in a hybrid (face-to-face and online) format, by UK and local teaching staff. Sessions will be fully subject-immersive and will include role-playing and use of CBT tools to augment delivery.

 

Assessment & Certification

Assessment of academic performance will be through candidate-completed assignments and portfolios of work.  The final program outcome is a United Kingdom Ofqual qualification.
